Das Humboldt Forum zählt seit Juli 2021 stolze 1,5 Millionen Besucher, allein 820.000 in den Ausstellungen. Im September eröffnet der Ostflügel mit den Benin-Bronzen, was es dort dann zu sehen gibt, ist aber noch unklar.

Kürzlich wurden zwei Stücke aus der Berliner Sammlung an Nigeria zurückgegeben. Die Benin-Bronzen gelten als Beutekunst, die 1897 von britischen Kolonialherren nach Europa verkauft wurden.

Moroccan court sentences 33 migrants to prison over Mellila crossing attempt

Scores of migrants have been jailed in Morocco for attempting to scale a border wall to reach Spanish territory last month.

The court in Nador sentenced 33 people to 11 months in prison each over the deadly crossing attempt to the Spanish enclave of Melilla.

At least 23 people were killed in a "stampede" when hundreds of migrants tried to cross the North African border on June 24. An estimated 133 people successfully breached the frontier.

Paul Kagame told a French TV channel he would stand for president again at the next election in 2024.

In the last presidential election five years ago, official figures showed he won 99% of the vote, which many outside the country dismissed as a sham.
