Dambisa Moyo who wrote "dead aid" talks about, "...the rise of glamour aid" in her chapter: a brief history of aid (pages 10 - 29). Bob Geldorf and Bono are the most shining protagonists of that era of Aid giving to Africa ($1 Trillion of Aid dollars since 1940s).

But there is a musical side to this story.

The reason, why musicians such as Bono, Geldorf and others speak to magazines, talkshows and other media, is because they are as singer / songerwriters uniquely qualified to express a sentiment of their generation.

i think this is noteworthy.
