Is Obama right when he says "democracy and economic growth go hand in hand"?
Whether we like it or not - the developing countries, especially in East Asia, that made the biggest economic leaps were not exactly model democracies.
And how about Ruanda's President Kagame, apart from his dubious human rights record? I hear a lot of praise for what he does to develop his country. Democracy doesn't seem be his special concern.
